Upsell and Cross-sell on OpenCart
Up-selling and Cross-selling are offers to buy goods that are related to or related to the first product, ie additional offers that complement the product that the buyer came for. Such goods may also include additional services, such as insurance or an extended warranty. The main thing is to offer the buyer other products that may also interest him, in order to increase the amount of the order.
The Upsell Products module for OpenCart allows you to add products or services related to each product and display them in the product card. Having marked the necessary goods, the buyer will add them to the cart together with the main product.
The main features of the module:
- the possibility of group assignment of Upsell products by category or individually for each product;
- add multiple items to the cart in one click (along with the main item);
- the price of additional products and services may be set as a percentage of the value of the main product;
- the ability to hide the category of additional products in the store and hide the products / services themselves;
- the ability to display Related Products, if additional products are not specified;
- enable / disable images of additional products;
- multilingual title for the Upsell Products block and for the Recommended Products block.
Priority of upsell products
- Upsell for each product. They can be specified in the product editing form, in the "Links" tab.
- Upsell by category. You can specify your own Upsells for each product category. This can be done here, in the "Upsell by category" tab.
- "Related Products" as Upsell. If you enable this option, then if there are no Upsell products, they can be related products, if a specific product has them.
The extension is compatible with the Journal3 template.
Module installation instructions:
- Upload the module in the admin panel in the "Extensions" : "Install".
- Go to the "Modifications" section and update the cache.
- Go to the "Dashboard" section and update the template cache.
- Go to the "Extensions" : "Extensions" : "Modules" and enable the module.
- Edit module. Enable the status of the module and adjust all its options to your needs and save the settings.
- If you need to hide Upsell products in the store, then create a separate category where you place all these products. In the module settings, specify that you want to hide this category.
- In the form of adding the product in the admin panel under the Price field, it will be possible to specify that this price is a percentage of the main product in the cart.
- In the product editing form, a new "Upsell Products" field should be added to the Links tab, where you can specify related products for each product.

What is an upselling?
Upselling is a way to increase sales, and accordingly income, by offering the buyer other more expensive products from the same category, that is, similar products with a higher price and better characteristics. That is, the upsell technique encourages the buyer to buy a more expensive product or its improved version with additional equipment.
What is cross-selling?
Cross-selling is an increase in sales and the amount of revenue due to additional offers of goods and services. That is, to the selected product, the buyer is offered to buy related products that can be an addition to the main product. This method is also called "cross-selling".
