The Category Short Description module adds a separate field for a short category description that is displayed at the top of the page, before the product list. This allows you to split content into two blocks: a brief introduction at the beginning of the page and a detailed description at the bottom after the products.

The main idea of the module is to avoid overloading the top part of the category page with large text. When a visitor enters the page, they see a short description of 2-3 sentences that quickly explains the essence of the category, and then can immediately browse products. The full detailed description with all additional information remains at the bottom of the page for those who want to learn more.

The module adds a short_description field to the category editing form with Summernote HTML editor support. The field is fully multilingual, so you can create a unique short description for each language of your store. If the field is empty, nothing will be displayed at the top of the page.
