The law works: a fine for the lack of a Ukrainian version of the site

The Ukrainian language is the only state language in Ukraine. However, in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet space, the Russian one, which the occupiers planted on us for centuries, still prevailed. Moreover, even a Ukrainian-speaking user is already used to entering search phrases in another language that is not his native language. Why did this happen? And because almost all of the most popular Ukrainian services and online stores operated only in Russian, most of them did not have Ukrainian localization until 2014. However, the situation changed somewhat after 2014, when russia occupied part of Ukrainian territories, popular sites got a Ukrainian interface, which, however, remained not the main one, and very often only the main blocks of the site were translated, and the content remained untranslated. On the 30th year of Ukraine's independence, elected officials finally paid attention to this problem and adopted the relevant amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language", which entered into force on July 16, 2022.

Recently, a client contacted us with a request for the service of setting up multilingual site on OpenCart. He received an official warning letter from the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, stating that his online store violates the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language". The text of the letter is given below (identification data hidden):

So, as we can see, the law works, and the state bodies responsible for its compliance are actively analyzing Internet resources to detect violations. Therefore, if Ukrainian is still not the main language in your online store or, for some unknown reason, you don't have it at all - don't waste time, because it was necessary to do it a long time ago. We are always ready to help you in this.
