PDF Viewer - view PDF on the OpenCart product page

The OpenCart PDF Viewer module is an extension that allows you to add a PDF document to a product for easy viewing on the site. It embeds a PDF viewer window on the product page, so your customer doesn't have to go anywhere, and keeping the customer on the page to view the document will have a positive impact on the site's behavioral statistics.

You can add only one PDF link to each product. It can be either a link from another site or a relative path to the document on your site. That is, you need to first upload all the files to a folder on the server and then link them to the product.

The extension allows you to enable or disable the ability to download and print PDFs from the viewer, and also encrypts links to PDFs to protect them from direct download. That is, the Download and Print buttons can be hidden from the user if necessary.

Downloading a pdf file on the product page is asynchronous, i.e. the page rendering does not depend on the pdf file.

The module has several items to display on the product page:

• Button before the price + modal window (popup)
• After the product description
• Before the tabs with product information
• In a separate tab (guaranteed to work in the default template)

OpenCart's PDF Viewer module creates a separate table in the database (product_pdf) where product id bindings to url pdf files are stored. Such a structure will allow the site developer to automate the addition of pdf to products. For example, you can download all documents to a separate folder on the server by adding id or article numbers of products to the names of the documents, then through mysql query you can automatically link a large number of pdfs to their products.

The module is multilingual, but the link to the pdf document is the same for all languages. That is, the button titles in the PDF viewer will be multilingual, but the document itself, which you can add to the product, will be the same for all languages.
